Chapter 3 Q2 What is Web 2.0, how does it differ from 1.0?

Web 2.0 is a phrase like 3G for mobile phones. Where as 3G means third generation, 2.0 means second version or second generation. Web 2.0 is a phrase that has found a lot of usage in the press lately with with the introduction of online office suites, collaboration and rich media applications. In other words, one could surmise that Web 1.0 was text and images based sites that distributed information and Web 2.0 is rich media sites that allows the distribution, collection and collaboration of information and resources.
